1. NDA 2025 Eligibility Criteria


A. Nationality:



  • Indian Citizen, or

  • Subject of Nepal, or

  • Subject of Bhutan, or

  • Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of settling permanently in India, or

  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam), with the intention of settling in India.


B. Educational Qualification:



  • For Army Wing: Candidates must have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) examination from a recognized board. There is no specific requirement for subjects.

  • For Air Force and Navy Wings: Candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.


C. Marital Status:



  • Only unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply for the NDA exam.


D. Gender:



  • Only male candidates are eligible for NDA.






2. NDA 2025 Age Limit:



  • Minimum Age: 16.5 years (as of January 1, 2025)

  • Maximum Age: 19.5 years (as of January 1, 2025)


This means the candidate should be born between July 2, 2006, and July 1, 2009.

3. NDA 2025 Height and Weight Requirements:


The NDA has certain height and weight standards based on gender and age. These physical standards ensure candidates are fit for the physically demanding life in the Armed Forces.

Height Requirements:



  • For Army:

    • Minimum height: 157 cm (5 feet 2 inches)



  • For Navy and Air Force:

    • Minimum height: 162.5 cm (5 feet 3 inches)




Height Relaxation:



  • Candidates from hilly areas (e.g., Gorkhas, Garhwalis, Kumaonis, etc.) and tribal regions have relaxation in the height criteria.

    • For such candidates, the minimum height requirement may be 5 cm less (i.e., 152 cm for Army and 157.5 cmfor Navy/Air Force).





Weight Requirements:


The weight of a candidate should be proportionate to their height. Below is a general weight chart for candidates:
